PMC Pastors Conference in Tanzania, 2008 - Week 2
Week 2:
Monday - 29th September 2008
Paul Barrington and Pastor Henry Zaake showered, and prayed together before 7 am at their hotel, and then set out for the city of Dar es Salaam for some banking.
They were finally back at 11:30 am, and joined the sessions at the Pastors Conference, where Pastor Michael Shattuck preached. That afternoon Paul had another visit to Heaven.
Pastor Joseph, the other American pastor, prayed with Paul for an anointing to lead others to experience Heaven as he had.
They went back to the hotel for lunch and discussed with Pastor Duncan the problems he was having at his schools and orphanage at Migowi in Malawi. The problem centered on a water pump that needed to be repaired. If not fixed, the government would close the school. A water supply was a requirement. But they also needed monthly resources to feed 105 children at the orphanage.
At 5 pm. Paul and Pastor Henry walked to the Crusade, where Henry preached and Paul prayed that others would also have a revelation of Heaven from Jesus. Later, back at the church, they met a rich widow who invited the pastors to her home for a meal. She wanted prayer for her children and her home.
Tuesday - 30th September 2008
At the 7 am breakfast Pastor Duncan asked about Paul's family and history. That morning at the Pastors Conference there was a special session on reaching Moslems for Christ. Pastor Duncan attended that, while Paul and Henry continued computer lessons over the laptop.
At lunch they were together again with Pastor Duncan, where they discussed this pastor's needs in his ministry in Malawi. There were various projects which he felt would make his ministry self-sufficient. They prayed together.
They prayed together again for Pastor Henry's ministry that evening. about 3:30 pm. and walked together to the Crusade meeting. Henry preached on how Africa is a very blessed continent of nations because Jesus was taken to Egypt as an infant to escape King Herod. After the service they prayed for 10 women and six children, and then returned to the church for more prayer for their church members.
Paul had a considerable ministry in praying for others. He prayed for Yusuph, a young man involved in the worship ministry, for success in his education and for healing of a fungus infection in his feet. He prayed for a young woman to have success in evangelism. He prayed for another woman whose husband had run away with another woman and taken this supplicant's two children with them.
He rejoiced to hear of some answers to prayer. Pastor Gervase's wife Miiriam reported that the prayers he had prayed for her the day before were answered that very day, in regards to her business success. She had already had an increase of people coming to purchase her goods and had received promise of more business.
Back at the hotel they had a special prayer time for Pastor Duncan's circumstances and that certain curses be lifted. In his extended family there had been five sudden deaths for no apparent reason. They prayed for protection over his marriage too, as his mother-in-law was bringing witchcraft remedies to his wife.
Wednesday - 1st October 2008
A team of four pastor guests at the conference, from Congo and Malawi, came to Paul to ask if he had some vision for Africa. He told them about a vision about the Holy Spirit fire spreading throughout Africa - if only they kept their eyes on Jesus. They gave him their email addresses for further teaching later on.
At 5 pm they went to the Crusade where Pastor Henry preached on the need to build your life on the Rock, which is Christ Jesus. Afterwards they had an ordination service for six of the PMC pastors at the Kibaha church. They continued to pray for pastors there until 8:30 when they went back to the hotel for dinner.
The power went off that night, which meant there were no ceiling fans working in the heat through the night.
Thursday - 2nd October 2008
After early morning prayer times, Paul saw both Pastor Henry Zaake and Pastor Duncan off to their buses to go home. Then he returned to pack for his own departure. He spent some time with Pastor Gervase at 10:30, trying to solve his computer problem. Then he said good bye to the pastors at the church, and they set out for Dar es Salaam so he could meet his flight at the airport.
Paul's conclusion was that it was a great conference in Africa, and he enjoyed God's blessings in all his travels.
Return to the report of the first week of the Pastors Conference 2008.
