STATEMENT OF FAITH

TRUE LIVING GOD

The Scriptures teach us that there is one true living God, who is a Spirit, self-existent, eternal, immutable, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, independent, good, holy, just, merciful, the creator, preserver, governor of the universe, redeemer, Saviour, sanctifier, and judge of man, and the only proper object of worship.

The mode of His existence is a subject far above the understanding of man. Finite beings cannot comprehend Him. There is nothing in the universe that can justly represent Him for there is none like Him. He is the foundation of all perfection and happiness. He is glorified by the whole inanimate creation and is worthy to be loved and served by all intelligence.

THE SCRIPTURES

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and has the same power today as it ever had. It is free from any error and is the final authority in matters of faith and life. The Old and New Testaments are the supreme standards by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions should be tried.

Based on Bible References:
(2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:19-21, 1 Peter 1:23-25).

JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, born by the virgin Mary. As He and the Father are one, He is in His divine nature filled all the offices and performed the works of God to His creatures that have been the subject of revelation to us. By Christ, the world was created, and is governed. He has provided redemption for all men, and is the final judge.

The Word, which in the beginning was with God, and which was God, by whom all things were made condescended to a state of humiliation in becoming like us. Temptation and sin excepted. In this state, a subject of the love He was liable to the infirmities of our nature, was tempted as we are, but He lived our example and rendered perfect obedience to the divine requirements.

(Hebrews 1:3, Corinthians 8:9) (Isaiah 9:6, Ephesians 1:21) (Hebrews 9:12) (2 Timothy 4:1, John 5:22). (John 1:14, Corinthians 8:9) (Hebrews 2:17, John 11:33,35) (Hebrews 4:15, Matthew 4:1-1)

THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Scriptures ascribe to the Holy Spirit the acts of an intelligent being. He is said to guide, to know to move, to forbid, to send forth, to serve, can be sinned against. The attributes of God are ascribed to the Holy Spirit such as eternity, omnipresence, goodness, and truth.

THE ATONEMENT

We believe that we can be forgiven our sins and cleansed from our unrighteousness to live without sin in this present world. Our Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins. Through the redemption effected by Christ, salvation is enjoyed in this world, and will be enjoyed in the next, by all who do not in this life refuse obedience to the known requirements of God. The atonement for sin was necessary.

Based on Bible References:
(1 John 1:1-2; 8:32, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Titus 2:12) (Romans 8:1, Revelation 7:13-14) (Hebrews 9:22, Ephesians 1:7).

6. SALVATION, HEALING AND MIRACLES.

We believe in salvation, healing and miracles through the name of Jesus Christ. The repentance which the gospel requires includes a deep conviction, a penitential sorrow and open confession, decided hatred and entire forsaking of all sin. This repentance God has enjoined on all men and without it in this life, the sinner must perish eternally.

We believe in Baptism by immersion in water to all believers who have repented from their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior. Baptism of the Holy Ghost may be obtained by a definite act of approaching faith on the part of the fully cleansed believer. This is an imperative command and that the first evidence of the reception of this experience is the speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

Based on Bible References:
(Matthew 9:13, John 3:13-15, 1 Timothy 1:15, John 14:12, I Peter 2:24) (Luke 13:5, Acts 17:30). (Acts 8:37-38, Acts 2:38, Matthew 3:16.) (Ephesians 5:18) (Luke 11:13, Acts 1:5, 2:1-4; 8:17).

DIVINE HEALING

The Bible teaches that the healing provided in the atonement is both spiritual and physical in the Old Testament and the New Testament. We believe they can still be healed today. Sickness and suffering are the result of sin. There never would have been sickness and death if the human race had not been taken into sin. It is not correct to say that all sickness is the direct result of sin, but sin certainly is directly or indirectly responsible for it. However, it follows that the same Christ who can deliver us from sin, can, if it pleases Him, deliver us from sickness.

(Isaiah 53:4,5, Matthew 8:1),

SECOND COMING OF CHRIST

We believe that Jesus died and rose again from the dead, and now He is at the right hand of God the Father. We also believe in the imminent, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the triumph of GOD. There is nothing in Scriptures to indicate when it will be. For there shall be the great Tribulation, such was not since the beginning of the world to this time, nor ever shall be. When tribulation has consummated and the day of Apostasy is over, then shall be the second event of the Second Coming of our Lord The particular feature in this event is that it will be a day of terror for the disobedient and vengeance on those who disobey the Gospel.

Based on Bible References:
(John 19:40, 42, Luke 24:6-7, I Corinthians 15:3-4, Mark 16:19) (Acts 1:11) (Thessalonians 4:16) (Matthew 24:36) (Matthew 24:21) . (Luke 21:27). (John 14:3, I Corinthians 15:52, Thessalonians 4:15-17).

HOLY MARRIAGE.

We believe in the Holy-Marriage. God ordained marriage as basic human relationship. The relationship is social as well as physical, and one of privilege as well as responsibility God intended marriage to be a life-long relationship. Jesus recognized that God's ideal in marriage is monogamy. Marriage is a solemn binding, unconditional covenant, a covenant between man, woman and God. The marriage covenant has four aspects (i) Love (ii) Living together in a single household (iii) Faithfulness in the marriage bed. (iv) Provision for the wife by the husband. The marriage union is constituted (i) When there is a mutual affinity (ii) Public consent, evidenced by having a license (iii) Where there is a covenant agreement publically expressed in ceremonial vows (iv) When there is physical union which consummates. The essence of this is love.

As a Religious Body who believe in the literal translation of the Scriptures and seek to preserve and exemplify a Holiness life style, we are seriously opposed to sexual immoralities and perversions of any kind including homosexuality, adultery or perverse sexuality of any kind. We believe in the approved sexuality within the confines of a monogamous heterosexual marital relationship.

Based on Bible References:
(Hebrews 13:14, Genesis 2:24, I Corinthians 7:2, Matthew 19:6) (Genesis 1:27) (Genesis 2:18) (Genesis 2:23) (Genesis 2:24) (Matthew 19:18) (Genesis 2:24) (Genesis 1:13) (Genesis 3:16)

DIVORCE

is hated by God and it is also contrary to God's will and work. Divorce is forbidden to a Christian couple by Paul. Divorce initiative is permitted a Christian by Jesus when the spouse is guilty of fornication. Divorce is permitted by Paul when there is irreconcilable desertion.

Based on Bible References:
(Malachi 2:14-16) (Matthew 19:5,6) (Corinthians 7:10-11) (Habitual sexual immorality) (Matthew 5:23., 19:9) (Corinthians 7:10-15)

RE-MARRIAGE

When Scripture permits divorce, it presupposes the right to re-marry. Remarriage is forbidden by Jesus if fornication is not involved. However, Jesus recognized the divorced could be expected to remarry. The basic purpose in what Jesus says is to prevent divorce in the first place. Persons divorced on Biblical grounds and remarrying commit no sin. Divorce dissolves the first marriage even for the guilty party, so remarriage does not cause the divorced to have two (2) wives and adultery is not a state but an act. Membership in PMC is open to all Born again believers whatever the marriage entanglements. Deacons and ministers are received only if divorced and remarriage as God's Word allows, which is against fornication and desertion.

Based on Bible References:
(Deuteronomy 24:1-4, Matthew 5:32, 19 Mar 10:11 and Luke 16:18) (Matthew 5:32, 19:9)

PASTORS AND PREACHERS

We believe that preachers should preach the Gospel and live in what they preach to be a good example to the world. The Gospel should be preached everywhere .

Based on Bible References:
(Mark 16:15, Luke 24:47, James 3:10-13, Matthew 5:16:48 2 Timothy 3:17, 1 Timothy 4:2) (Mark 16:15, Acts 1:18, Mark 13:10, Matthew 24:14)

TEMPERANCE

(i) PMC maintains a strong testimony against the use of intoxication liquors and drug abuse. We believe that beverage alcohol and drug abuse are major causes of poverty and crime and that it is destructive to the body and to the mind spiritually. It wrecks and degrades the lives and characters of those who indulge in it. Our members should NOT participate in the liquor or drugs traffic, nor encourage it in any form, but should be earnest and energetic in their opposition to it.

ii) Members who persist in the use or owning and operating a business that sells intoxicating liquors and illegal drugs, after they have been admonished, are to be excluded.

iii) We believe that moderation should be practiced in everything touching the welfare of one's life. Members should NOT over indulge in eating and drinking. They should avoid immodest styles and fashions of the world. We should heed the apostles' admonition to abstain from all appearance of evil.

iv) We believe the PMC members should not engage in unwholesome and degrading sinful amusements. Members must choose only such activities as are in accord with Christian principles and standards. The Church and the community should cooperate to provide wholesome and constructive social activities and pastimes for the young people in accordance with their need. Therefore, high standard of quality of living and wholesome moral influence must be maintained in the community.

TITHING AND FREE - WILL OFFERINGS

We believe that all Christians must tithe and that the tithe should be given directly into the Church for the support of the cause. The Old Testament teaches tithing and Jesus gave His approval on the practice. One-tenth of the net income belongs to GOD and should be given to Him through the local church. In addition to this, we ought to give donations and free-will offerings for the support of His cause, and according to His promise. He will pour upon us abundant blessings. By net income we mean the total income from all sources, excepting only what it will cost to produce that income

Based on Bible References:
(Matthew 23:23.) (Genesis 28:22, Leviticus 27:30, Malachi 3:8-10).

12. THE CHURCH AND WORSHIP

The Church is an organized body of believers in Christ, who assemble to worship GOD and who sustain the ordinance of the Gospel agreeable to His world. It is the whole body of Christians throughout the world and none but the regenerate are its real members. Believers are admitted to a particular Church on their giving evidence of faith, being baptized. and receiving the hand of fellowship . Believers must pray always, fast often and give their tithes heartily to the Lord.

Based on Bible References:
(I Corinthians 1:2, Acts 2:41, 48, 15:1,2) (I Corinthians 12:27,28, Colossians 1:18, 24: I Peter 2:5) (Acts 2:41, 8:12; Galatians 3:27) (Matthew 9:15, Luke 8:1, Isaiah 58:6, Luke 6:38, Malachi 3:10, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7.

13. DEATH, INTERMEDIATE STATE, RESURRECTION AND FINAL JUDGMENT.

(i) As a result of sin, all mankind is subject to death of the body. The soul does not die with the body but immediately after death, it enters into a conscious state of happiness or misery, according to the moral character here possessed. This is the so-called intermediate state.

(ii) We believe, according to the Scriptures, that there shall be a resurrection from the dead, both for the just and for the unjust. God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness, by Jesus Christ, whom He has ordained for as the apostle has said, “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that everyone may receive the things done in his body. According to what he has done, whether good or bad.” I Corinthians 5:10.

(iii) We also sincerely believe in rising and ascending into glory with Christ, after the rebellion against the light of His grace and die finally impenitent, shall come forth to the resurrection of condemnation. "The soul of every man and woman shall be preserved in its own distinct and proper being, and shall have its proper body as God is pleased to give it. It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body" (I Corinthians 15:14) that being first which is spiritual. "Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, neither does corruption inherit incorruption." (I Corinthians 15:50). "We shall be raise out of all corruption and corruptibility, and shall be the children of God, being the children of the resurrection." (Luke 22:36).

HOLY TRINITY

We believe in the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
