Wheelchair Distribution in Tanzania

In the fall of 2007, Pastor Gervase and the PMC received a 40 foot container from America. It carried 550 wheelchairs from the Wheelchair Commission, (CA America). These were free for distribution to ministries in Tanazania.

The PMC turned ten chairs over to the Hurassini Salvation Army Privary School. Here they heard the stories of some of these children; stories that touched their hearts and moved them to tears, as they heard of children being rejected and abandoned, or chased away. But then the Salvation Army had collected them, and now they were doing fine in the school, having hope at last.

They also served food and drinks to 170 children, and pledged to provide more wheelchairs, clothing and shoes and crutches.

Below we show photos of various individuals in many locations who were presented with wheelchairs. Unfortunately, we don't have names and details about each individual at this time. You will have to read as much as you can out of each photo. (Do you know the saying about there being a thousand words in a photo?)

wheelchairs in a hospital perhaps   a man with his new wheelchair

a man with only one leg in his new wheelchair

here we see a man without a wheelchair  here's the same man in his new wheelchair

man with very thin and useless legs  Now that same man can convey himself from place to place

This poor woman has feet that lookd quite diseased and wasted  but now this woman is in a wheelchair

Letters of thanks for wheelchairs from Lions and the Action for Disabled and Widows.
